FAQ and Guides

Ad fits me perfectly but I want to buy/sell other crypto than advertised

You do not have to buy exact crypto you want because once you buy any crypto and enter crypto space, you can exchange it on DEX to the preffered one. DEX - decentralized exchanges are online exchanges without KYC and any registration. You just need to choose crypto you have, crypto you want and your address of that. You can use trocador.app for that (which is not exchange but aggregator choosing best rate for you). After setting up transaciton on dex, save your ID from exchange you choose in case they freeze your transaction (barelly happens but just in case). Also, you can ask AI for any help with using DEX but it is very intuitive and easy.
Other possibility is to ask buyer/seller from the ad if he can either exchange it for you before or help you with that on the spot.

I am used to escrow platforms where I can see reputation of each trader

Escrow platforms such as LocalBitcoins have their benefits and drawbacks. Cashnero does as well, but what may seem like a disadvantage here is actually a step that makes everyone safer. One of the key differences when browsing ads is that you do not see any reputation of the trader, their trade history, or the volume they have surpassed. It may seem like a problem, but let’s think about this more deeply.
1) If you have used LocalBitcoins, LocalMonero, or a similar escrow platform frequently, you could never be sure if your data was safe. LocalBitcoins had records of all trades and could potentially share them with the government or any malicious party in the event of a data leak. They could figure out how much crypto each trader owned. For example, in today’s world, if you, as a trader on LB, bought dirty bitcoins and were connected to shady activity, LB would have to share your data with the government.
2) Reputation does not necessarily mean everything—there were accounts with perfect reputations for sale. A scammer could buy these accounts and pose as a reliable trader with the intention of scamming or robbing you.
These two features created a false sense of safety for users. In reality, they could lead to disaster because users relied on them too much. The Cashnero platform is 100% peer-to-peer—there is no responsibility for the platform in case of any issues. Ultimately, this is the main principle of crypto: no third party. Still, below we have provided guides to help prevent scams for newcomers and things you need to be aware of.

I do not want to be scammed

Nobody wants to. The best way to prevent that is to build confidence with your counterpart, starting with a few thousand euros. After that, you can either continue with that amount or increase it for each transaction. The following tips will help you:
1) If your counterpart wants everything to be quick or is rushing you, it is a very bad sign. Take your time waiting for blockchain confirmations (each cryptocurrency has a different number of confirmations after which you can be sure the transaction is complete; check how many are needed for the desired crypto before meeting). Take your time counting and checking the money.
2) After you check and count the cash, keep it visible for both parties, but not too close to the buyer. This way, you can avoid any manipulations while you are on your phone sending the crypto transaction. If the buyer wants to take the cash after you have counted and verified it, this is a very bad sign, as they could switch it for counterfeit bills. If this happens, explain your concerns, and if they do not agree, it's better to walk away—better to lose time than money. As the seller, you need to be the last person to have touched the cash before sending the crypto. Do not underestimate this; these individuals can be very quick, and you may not even notice a switch.

Can I post ad with another payment method than with cash?

No, only cash involving methods accepted here. No wire transfer, Paypal nor Wise.

I want to exchange crypto for another crypto

You can exchange it on a DEX for your preferred cryptocurrency. DEXs, or decentralized exchanges, are online platforms that do not require KYC (Know Your Customer) or any registration. You just need to select the cryptocurrency you have, the one you want, and provide your wallet address for the transaction.
